The need for a Detox Diet

Detoxification which is otherwise called Detox is a process by which the toxins in the body are removed. Detox diet is a diet that helps in removing the toxins from the body. Toxins in the body are produced in the body when it functions normally or through the foods that we consume and through what we inhale.

A Detox diet
is a well planned diet that consists of food items that helps you minimize the chemicals taken in through foods. Usually the organic foods have fewer chemicals in them. Hence organic foods are recommended in the Detox diets.

You should know that most of the food items including vegetables that we take in have some chemicals in it since chemicals are used as pesticides in their cultivation. Food items that are rich in nutrients are recommended in the Detox diet. Vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients are needed in the right quantities for our body to carry out the detoxification process. Our body naturally removes the toxins through urination and bowel movements. To make this process smoother you need to have foods that are rich in fiber content and consumer more water. This would help much in the elimination of the toxins from the body.

The natural ability of our body to detoxify is interrupted if proper balanced food is not taken regularly. The toxins accumulate in the cells and this leads to a host of diseases and illness in our body. Hence a Detox diet is taken to regularize the bowel movements and to get more energy through detoxification. With a Detox diet you get a clear skin too. Digestion is improved drastically and clarity of thought and concentration is also got. These are some of the benefits of going for Detox diet.

With such benefits attached to the Detox diets not all can go for it. Pregnant women and children should not go for Detox diets. It is better to consult a doctor or a healthcare professional before you go for Detox diet. People who are already affected by kidney disease, anemia, thyroid disease, diabetes, eating disorders, and chronic conditions should not go for the Detox diet. If willing to go it should be done under the consultation from a healthcare provider.

Some of the common side effects of undergoing Detox diets are headache during the first few days for some people who are avoiding caffeine. Diarrhea and dehydration are expected in some people. For some constipation is expected when they do not drink much water and take more of fiber foods. Fatigue, hunger and weight loss are some of the other side effects that you can expect. If you feel that you are having some of these side effects that affect your routine work then it is better to consult your healthcare provider. During the first few days you might expect such side effects. That is one of the reasons why a Detox diet should be started during the weekends so that your routine work is not disturbed.

Different types of Detox diets are available. Some of the Detox diets are based on the type of food items that are recommended and some are based on the target organs and systems for detoxification. Detox diets for skin, lungs, kidneys, liver, etc are available separately. You can start with one of the system and move on to the other through a specific period. It is recommended to go for Detox diets one or twice a year to improve your health condition.

The Six Pack – worth the effort

The ‘six pack’ has long been viewed by men and women alike as the ultimate reward for the dedication to diet and exercise that results in a perfectly sculpted, muscled stomach. It will take commitment, patience, time, and even willpower to achieve a six pack, and once you have achieved a beautifully defined six pack of your own you will agree the effort was well worth the reward.

The key here is to build strong muscles and at the same time loose fat, as the best toned muscles will not be visible under a layer of blubber. How to go about this? Let’s take a look below:
