10 steps to a happy, healthy pregnancy

The health of a baby undoubtedly starts upon conception, and it is therefore essentially important that your pregnancy be a happy, healthy one. Below are 10 steps that you can take to a more happy, healthy pregnancy, and a happy, healthy baby!


1. Eat only foods rich in nutrients.


The easy way to tell if you are getting the nutrients that both you and your baby needs is to look at the color of your plate. A variety of colors means a variety of nutrients! Granted, multi colored sprinkles on top of a cupcake don't count, so we must also look at the types of foods you are eating.

Basically, for a happy, healthy pregnancy, you want a colorful array of raw fruits and vegetables, beans, and whole grains. Stay away from dairy products, meat, processed foods, coffee, and sugary foods as much as possible.

2. Water, water, water.

There truly are few things better for both you and your baby than the most pure water you can possibly find. Drink a few glasses in the morning to stave off that waking hunger, and a little lemon along with can also help with that pesky morning sickness.

3. Clean air.

This goes without saying, but if water is more important than food, then think of how important air is for both you and your baby. Stay away from smokers and traffic.

4. Use your pregnancy as an excuse to get massages.

Actually, the health benefits of massages for both you and your baby are quite well documented, so use this to your advantage and pamper yourself even more than usual.

5. Low impact exercise.

Any form of low impact movement that you enjoy, you have no reason to stop doing. Definitely walk as much as possible.

6. Take time for activities you love.

Uplifting activities help both you and your baby become happier. The happier you are, the happier your baby will be.

7. Journal your journey.

Take notes so that you can keep in touch with your feelings. This helps weed out negative emotions.

8. Meditate.

There are few things more calming than meditation. Combine with number 4 for incredible results.

9. Friends.

Now is the time to talk to your friends and get their support.

10. Laugh.

Laughter is truly the best medicine, for both you and your baby!
